Hi Jonzothebeast – not sure what you mean by your question. Living together? Like partners eg marriage?

If you do, then here is a strange observation – there are many husband and wife combinations who work together! My current boss and his wife, for one – I share an office with the wife. My PhD supervisors were married. In fact, in my current department there are over 3 husband/wife teams.

If you mean ‘living at the moment’, then I think that it would be Nobel Prize winners Barry Marshall and Robin Warren for their discovery of “the bacterium Helicobacter pylori and its role in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease”. Anybody who tests out their hypothesis on themselves by drinking bacteria and then curing themselves have to be admired! My mum had a peptic ulcer, and I know the pain that she went through – and often told that it was all her imagination.

      Hey Jonzothebeast

If you mean the best scientist living now – Professor Higgs – who came up with the theory of the Higgs Boson. Everyone laughed at him when he came up with the theory but he was proved right when it was discovered at CERN and he won the Nobel Prize last year. He is also a lecturer at Edinburgh University where I did my degree and gave a special lecture. He is definitely inspirational!

      Hey jonzo!

I like Stanley Prusiner. He’s pretty cool- he won the Nobel prize for his work on prions (mad cow disease).
His story is just like any other guy- a regular person who happened to make a big discovery and then win a $1Million and the Nobel Prize! So cool. It’s inspiring for other normal guys 🙂
