      Wow!

If I won, I would get plastic hearts and arteries (with plaques) that I could break into bits (ie they pull apart and go back together). (Even better if I could get a few so the students can do it too.) A couple of posters showing the time scales of how plaques grow. One on what signs and symptoms to look out for during heart attack and stroke. One on the changes we can all make so that we don’t get blocked arteries.

Please vote for me! We need these props!!!

      Hi Catsparkes

I think it would mean a lot to all of us if we won. For me it would mean I could continue my work with schools, meaning more children and young adults get to take part in (some quite explosive) lab experiments that usually aren’t available in class. It also means I’d have some money to develop activities for children with special educational needs that don’t get to do much science, and allow them to participate in experiments and gain a passion for science when they otherwise might not get the chance. My favourite part of being a scientist is sharing it with other people and giving them the chance to become a scientist for the day (or for life!) – one day I hope to make it my career. So if people vote for me to win it gets me one step closer to that! πŸ™‚

It would be awesome if i won- because it means that i will know that the students actually ENJOYED learning with me, and hearing my answers πŸ™‚

It would also be super cool to continue working with the students- if i win you will all get the chance to send me a suggestion for a science project, and whichever project is the best I will give that class the 500 pounds to do the science project! But you have to let me know how the project went, with pictures and perhaps a small story from the class!
