The hardest thing to do is to get that first job. The next hardest is to get the second job. I can honestly say that, unless you have a passionate NEED to work in science…………………..

My PhD was my hardest obstacle! It took over 5 years! Such a long time and so much work!! But worth it in the end 🙂 Now I can sing to myself “Dr Jones, Dr Jones, calling Dr Jones…” Have you heard that song?! It’s by a band called Aqua!

      Hi Elliedulieu

I’m doing my PhD at the moment and it’s definitely the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do. I work very long hours sometimes, but the main reason it was so tough at the beginning is because I moved to a completely new city away from all my friends and family and had to meet a whole bunch of new people. At the beginning it was pretty lonely and scary but I’ve got a great set of friends up here now and I’m really glad I took the chance to move and see somewhere new.
