      Hi Eleanor

I think the best thing that has happened is meeting a woman whose son died of the human form of Mad Cow disease. We have talked and shared information about this disease and how it affected her son and her fmaily over the past 7 years, and now she has just published her book about it

It is very humbling to walk alongside someone, and know that the science you are doing is bringing hope to people that have no hope. Truly a blessing!

      Hi Eleanor

For me the best part of my PhD so far was when I took a week to go back and run a science week at my old primary school. We took the whole school out of normal lessons and they did experiments all week, and had other guest scientists give talks.

At the end of the week one of the girls came up to me and asked what she needed to do at secondary school so that she could be a scientist when she was older. She told me she had enjoyed the week so much that one day she wanted to do a PhD like me. Knowing you have inspired some one that much was absolutely incredible – and I gave her the biggest hug ever!
