      Dear jaylowde1900,

This is a tricky question; it’s hard to answer, because the definition of ADHD is not really secure.

The simple answer is that sometimes people with ADHD are given ritalin and similar drugs. This seems to help them, but this may also be helped by the person getting a bit older, and more aware of how to respond to what life throws at us.

      Cheers,
      Anita.

You can treat it the effects of it to clam people down, but I don’t think you can cure it. A cure would mean reversing what causes it and there doesn’t seem to be an obvious thing that causes ADHD.

      Hi Jaylowde

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD is a behavioural disorder and scientists currently aren’t sure what causes it. Without a cause it is incredibly difficult to find a cure. As Anita has said some drugs are sometimes prescribed to deal with the effects or symptoms. Sometimes that is all that is required

There are some good treatments for ADHD! I used to suffer from ADHD. Then my ADHD turned into ADD (attention deficit disorder, without hyperactivity!)

The drugs for ADD or ADHD are very good! Some people naturally become “cured” of ADHD- that is, they grow out of it!
