      Hi Swagdouglas

The problem with living on the moon is that it has no atmosphere at all, so there’s no air for us to breathe. For everyone to live on the moon we’d have to find a way to create oxygen. For the same reason we wouldn’t have any food, because plants and animals, and a lot of “good” bacteria also need oxygen to survive.

If we ever do leave earth, scientists are looking for similar planets to ours – known as “earth-like” or habitable

We could live on the moon now! but probably not as you mean it. We could live there for very short periods in our current spaceships. If we wanted to stay longer, then we would need to do something more science-fictiony, like build air-tight domes, and recycle our oxygen and consumables.

I remember when i was in school, a company came to our school and made us plan for life on the moon! It was really cool! We had to work out where to live, the best place for shade and protection from strong winds, and how to farm foods on the moon! It was fun! I think we will we able to one day, yes!
