My main interest is in biology. Mostly medical biology, but also Ecology, Biochemistry and Botany.
In my studies I also make use of chemistry (making my molecules), mathematics (not only do I analysed my results using statistics, I’m also trying to model my cultured cells using Chaos Theory, and suspect that my enzyme pathway may be a type of quantum computer!), physics (can’t do much without that!), engineering (ditto!)…………….so, yes, I’m interested in lots of different types of science.
Hey Abdiknowdaalphabet (not a friend of 124icancount are you?) and keirahughes
I’m a bit of a geek and like most kinds of science really. I was never very good at physics in school but think things like radiation and astrophysics are really cool – who doesn’t like watching stars explode?
I love doing chemistry experiments in schools. Particularly dramatic ones where things explode, and messy ones like elephant’s toothpaste:
If I wasn’t doing drug discovery I’d love to do either forensic science – like in the TV programme Bones, or be an engineer for a Formula 1 racing team
epigenetics. This was my favourite subject at university. It involves looking inside the cell and examining the materials called chromatin, which is made up of histone proteins that wrap around the DNA affect how genes are expressed or not expressed.
