I became a Scientist because I care passionately about the search for Truth. Our studies in Science mean that we learn a little more about life and thus approach a little more closely to the ‘centre’ of Truth. We may never get get to the centre, but we’ll try our hardest.

I think there are two things science is for:

      1) Discover new information about how the world works
      2) Take that information and use it in a way that will make our lives better.

I would put myself in second section. I love chemistry but its when I get to use it to design new medicines, that I think it’s amazing

The main point of being a scientist is to answer questions.

If you are the sort of person that always asks “but why?” then being a scientist is definitely the right career for you. If you always want to know “how does it work” maybe you want to become an engineer?

The other reason to become a scientist is to help people or animals – there are thousands of different ways to do this from designing new medicines to improving food and water supplies to preventing global warming and finding new clean energies. If you have a problem, and you want to solve it – the best person to do that is a scientist!
