Hi Natsudragneel, what a good question

I’m not afraid of finding something like that personally – I think if anyone starts an apocalypse it’s going to be a physicist with some kind of dark matter 🙂 I don’t think we need to worry about it in our life time though.

I am sometimes worried that I might find a chemical or drug that could be used in chemical warfare, like sarin gas used to be. This is now illegal in war and I’m really glad about that, but I would worry that someone might use a chemical to do something bad. I also sometimes get concerned about people using science for the wrong reasons. We now have amazing technology that allows us to fix faulty genes in peoples cells that can cure some really bad diseases. However some athletes are now using this to cheat and make them better at sport, and it’s really hard for it to be detected. People using science for bad things has always happened, so we just have to keep fighting against it.

      Hi natsudragneel

Well there was one time when I was in vet school and we were doing an autopsy on an elephant. All of a sudden the vet pushed the alarm and we had to evacuate into a quarantine zone. We stayed there for quite some time! The vet had found TB in the elephant, and although it wouldn’t have started an apocalypse, at the time it sort of felt like we might die!!

I work in the brain department and I sometimes secretly hope that we will get a brain that has the zombie virus. That would be cool, but scary in case it started an apocalypse!
